  • 2005: I was inducted into the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design Hall of Fame at the Origins 2006 convention (for calendar year 2005); I had been nominated for the award previously for years 1990 and 2001.
  • 1990: The Savage Empire, which I co-wrote, was named Game Player magazine's Best PC Fantasy Role-Playing Game (1990).
  • 1982: Under my editorship, Space Gamer magazine won the 1982 H.G. Wells Award for Best Professional Role-Playing Magazine (award presented at Origins 1983).
