The Aaron Allston Inaction Figure (May 2002)

     This photo was taken of me at Celebration II (Indianapolis, IN), in an oversized blister pack designed specifically for this sort of thing.
     The Aaron Allston Inaction Figure comes complete with a belt pouch and a PDA, but whether or not he's poseable depends on how much you're willing to pay him. (P.S.: He's not mint.)

I don't recall what evil I perpetrated at Dragon*Con 1999 — given my habits, it had to have been a pun of some sort — but I was summarily sentenced to pose with Jar Jar Binks.

Alaska Vacation (May, 1999)

Here I am standing atop the Holland America cruise ship Westerdam on an Alaskan Inside Passage cruise. I sometimes use it as a publicity photo, charmed by the minor irony of a Central Texas writer being shown with Alaskan snow-capped mountains in the background.

X-Wing Pilot Photo (May, 1999)

In Las Vegas to see The Phantom Menace with friends, I stopped in at the sort of booth where they insert one's face onto photographs from famous movies, sports or historical events, and naturally I had myself done as an X-Wing pilot.
Of course, I've never been this lean in real life. I'd like to thank the original model for the generous loan of his physique...

Publicity Photo (June, 1997)

This picture (described by my father as the "Popeye photo") was taken to be distributed for convention program books and other publicity purposes. It manages to suggest that I'm a lunatic without providing the authorities with any hard evidence.
